Nutrient Deficiency: Clinic Newsletter

Importance:

Nutrient deficiencies are the cause of countless health complaints and often go undiagnosed! Vitamins and minerals that are essential to good health could be below the optimal levels holding you back from thriving or making other conditions you have even worse. Nutrient deficiencies can cause intense symptoms and lead to other diseases if not corrected.

Iron Deficiency

Most common, especially in people who menstruate, children, vegetarians and vegans. Important for red blood cell production and transporting oxygen. If untreated can lead to anemia where symptoms get even more severe.

Symptoms: very tired, pale, weak, brain fog, dizzy, shortness of breath, hair loss, cold hands and feet

Vitamin B12 Deficiency

Important for red blood cell formation, brain and nerve function: every cell in your body needs B12! If untreated can cause anemia and neurological issues like pain or dementia.

Symptoms: very tired, shortness of breath, headache, poor mental health

Vitamin D Deficiency

This vitamin functions like a hormone in your body and requires sun exposure to be made... which we do not get a lot of in Canada!

Symptoms: tired, poor mental health, reduced bone density, immune function, and blood sugar regulation
