Topicals for Eczema: Soothing and Healing

Whenever we see things present on the skin (whether it is eczema, psoriasis, acne...) there is something internal that needs to be addressed. BUT! Topicals can be super helpful to soothe irritation, reduce inflammation, and support healing.

🧴 Glycerin Based Emollients - this is a fancy way of saying thick moisturizers that help protect the skin barrier and improve hydration, great to use after bathing

🥥 Coconut Oil - with some antimicrobial effects this can be useful if your worried about skin infections

🌾 Colloidal Oatmeal - can be found in lotions or used in a bath to soothe skin

When looking for salves and lotions some herbs that can be especially helpful are Calendula, Comphrey, Chamomile, Plantain, Chickweed, and Red Clover.
